An expansive region south of our mountain and temperate regions, the grasslands by far have the largest skies in our whole park. A constant watch is required in this region, as fires are especially dangerous during the dry season. However, we practice several controlled buring techniques to limit the risk of uncontrolled fires, so don't be alarmed if you see small plumes of smoke rising in the distance.
Our Pioneer trail is a must-do if you or your family is visiting the grassland region! Hike the same trail and camp under the same expansive night sky as the pioneers before us did! We have one education center with actvities revolving around homesteading as well. Even just a drive through on your way in between regions is a must!
