From towering pines in the mountains to sprawling oaks in the temperate region, our forests are a source of pride for our park. Home to many small mammals and avians, our combined forests make up the largest conservation effort in the world! Preventing wildfires, increasing oxygen levels, and providing shade are just a few of the important roles our forests play within the park!
Like many other locations, or forests are host to scenic hiking trails and camp grounds. We also have a team-building ropes course at our Southern Entrance location, as well as protected fishing acivities off several streams and rivers. Try visiting our temperate forests in the fall to see a whole new look!
